Sony Online Entertainment (the makers of Planetside 2) created this way of getting free Station Cash in order to promote their other free-to-play games that they have aviable. You get rewarded to signing up on SOE's other games and for doing that your account will get rewarded with 170 Station Cash for free (85 Station Cash for each sign up) The two games that are aviable for this promotinon deal is:

• Free Realms http://www.freerealms.com
• Clone Wars Adventures http://www.clonewarsadventures.com

You don't need to play the games, just login with your Planetside 2 login details, it's the same for all of the Sony Online Entertainment games. After you done that your account should be awarded with the Station Cash.
I'm not sure if it's possible to do this and get rewarded on the other SOE games, but I think it's only these two that are a part of this promotion deal.  So enjoy your station cash, you won't be able to buy anything big for this cash inside Planetside 2 but it's a start at least.
